Why did CompTIA develop CompTIA CTT+ Virtual Classroom Trainer?
CompTIA developed the Virtual Classroom Trainer concentration because the
industry told us that those skills are different from that of classroom trainer.
Students are at virtual locations and it can be difficult to keep the students
engaged and have the interaction needed for an effective session.

How were the CompTIA CTT+ exam objectives developed?
CompTIA uses a method for exam development that is accepted by the testing industry and considered to be "psychometrically sound", meaning that it is approved by PhD testing professionals. The skills and knowledge for this exam are derived from an industry-wide Job Task Analysis (JTA) and are validated by an industry-wide global survey. The results of the survey are used to determine the relative weight of each objective and its content, and to ensure that the weighting is representative of the importance of the content.
When will the new exam be available?
The CompTIA CTT+ Virtual Classroom Trainer exam will be launched in Q3, 2008, and candidates can mail their archived training session to Prometric as per the CTT+ handbook.

What topics does the new exam cover?
The new exam includes planning prior to the course, methods and media for instructional delivery, instructor credibility and communications, group facilitation and evaluation of the training event.

CompTIA is working with publishers and training companies to ensure there are materials available prior to the launch of the new exam.
Do candidates who are already CompTIA CTT+ certified need to retake the first exam in order to become CompTIA CTT+ certified?
Candidates who are currently CompTIA CTT+ only need to take the Virtual
Classroom Trainer exam to add the specialization to their credentials.
Are there prerequisites for the exam?
There are no prerequisites for CompTIA CTT+.
In what languages has the exam been developed?
At time of launch, CompTIA CTT+ computer-based test (CBT) will be offered in English, German and Japanese. The video portions will be available in English, German Japanese and Spanish. The Online portion will be available in English and Spanish. Translations into other languages are based on market demand.
What is the cost of the CompTIA CTT+ exam?
The cost for the CompTIA CTT+ exam CBT is $239; the cost of the classroom and online assessment is $258.
